The North Belfast City Learning Centre and Belfast Model School for Girls and Ashfield Girls High School projects have been shortlisted for their outstanding social and economic impact as well as their creativity and design excellence. These noteworthy examples of progress in global infrastructure development have been delivered using a strategic partnering arrangement between the Belfast Education & Library Board (BELB) and Belfast Schools Partnership (BSP).

The report, Infrastructure for an island population of 8 million, prepared by a Taskforce organised by Engineers Ireland and the Irish Academy of Engineers was launched on 24 February 2010. The report can be downloaded from Irish Academy of Engineers website, click here.
The purpose of the report is to identify and make recommendations on the long-term infrastructure which will be required in order to achieve world-class competitiveness for the island. The Taskforce recommends adopting a long-term perspective to ensure that wise economic choices are made and avoid the risk of revisiting incremental decisions based on short-term pressures.
We’re all very excited to be taking the Investment Strategy website to the next level, so far everybody seems happier with the direction being taken…the Construction Industry, Citizens and those involved in delivering these projects on the ground. What does this mean for You?
It means that you will be able to use the website to find out what progress is being made in delivering the projects that matter most to you. This might be a local school, hospital, road or even a theatre close to where you live. We want to hear from you too. You can join in by leaving replies to Blogs, or by leaving feedback on projects on the
ISNI website.
To support our construction industry, the newly developed website will provide information on upcoming central government procurements – this is essential if we are to help the industry to plan ahead more effectively in these difficult and changing times.
We look forward to hearing from you soon!!
